This is a very nice journal skin my crazy danish chef
I may use this for my next journal -- Proud member of T.F.H.W.D.L.B. Zwar sehr schlicht, aber mir gefallen die Farben und die Farbzusammenstellung.

Visual aspects
The grey looks great against dA's green gruze, and the top graphic is very simple but effective in framing the journal. I love that you're using rounded corners, and I have no problem with them not working in IE, especially since the outer corners, because of the graphics, are round. That's always a treat for the IE users.
For some reason the box corners doesn't work exactly like they should in safari, but the -web-kit-borders behave weird and safari is being updated right now, so that might be it.
It would be cool if the live-view had thumbs, since first of all they are shown in the preview, and second; they are cool, you should show off
I'm not all that into the yellow links - they draw too much attention to them self and takes away from the headlines.
User experience
So I pressed the install button, went to my journalediting page, chose your design and wrote a single line in the journal entry box, pressed preview and there was nothing. Most of the time people will do that, if nothing shows up, they will then check out "how to" on the options page (which is just the artists comments on the deviation) and so did I. There were two links and I, being lazy pressed the first one and the link opens up in the same window. I realise this isn't your fault - but it's pretty annoying. I went back and opened in a new tab instead - I was then presented with a full journal entry. You use pretty self explanatory names so I went back and opened up the other link, to get what I thought would be a simpler version, but that turned out to be exactly the same - you might want to fix that
After copy/pasting the whole thing into the editing area I pressed preview and it looked awesome - I then went back and looked over the code and tried making my changes. Changing the text in the first box was easy, and making a feature, for me anyway, was easy enough. Going into the support box I got a bit confused though, I was expecting thumb codes and icon codes but instead I was presented with "real" html. For most people that will just be a big mess and they won't know what to keep and not to keep and will probably end up deleting the support box all together, and because of that miss out on the cool borders on the icons and stamps.
Technical aspects
I love that you only used one graphic for header and footer! and on my big screen the whole journal shows
For the problem with my first line not showing up I suggest you put in padding-top for the .journaltext and re-enable <br>
That way the text will be pushed down and users will be able to make fast journal entries without having to copypaste a bunch of code.
Regarding the artists comments and how to show people the code, you can use html entities like so: <div class="mydiv">my text</div> this will result in <div class="mydiv">my text</div>. For more entities have a look here [link] (please note: the abbreviations like < don't seem to work on dA, use the entity numbers instead)
It takes a while, especially with big blocks of code like yours and that's why I would suggest that you start using "smaller" codes (tags) like <span> and <strong>.
Here's a list of the tags that work on dA: [link]
Conclusion
The skin works and looks great and with some minor changes it would be very user friendly!
